A Long Day

Today was one! Not a bad one just one where we HAD to be out and about all day...to SD...and back...with all four boys. Always a tiring one too!

New playground!

Our neighborhood park put a new playground in.  Last time we went it was torn down so today, after our Saturday morning pancakes, we took a trip there. Glad the boys haven't outgrown it yet. Loved watching them run around and discover all the new stuff.

Gorgeous day in HB

We went to Huntington Beach today. I haven't been there in years. Eddie met up with the street preaching friends. It was the prettiest and most relaxing day. I forgot how calming the sound of the waves are. The pier is simply beautiful. It is uncluttered with street vendors and arcade games, a stark contrast to that of Santa Monica. The boys and I walked the whole length of the pier without the disruption of one vendor.

What a splendid day!

One more time around....

...the plaza. It really is a beautiful town to walk around. It was a crisp and blustery day and we all enjoyed shuffling through the leaves. Window shopping is nice but buying something... well lets just say PRICEY. I spent $18 on one tiny bowl of soup and medium bag of homemade chips.  The chef seemed surprised when I asked for it to go and gave it to me in a disposable tupperware container.  Apparently they were fresh out of to go cups. He said, "You can bring it back or just keep it." For $18 I think I will just hang on to it. HA! So much for the "high end" customer service. It was a good laugh.

Another beauty. It stood the test of the winds.

Another day....

another accomplishment!!!

Raindrops keep falling....

We took a trip out to visit the mission we are studying for California History. We chose the one in Sonoma since we knew we would be able to visit it. It was boring. We all were way more interested in what was happening across the street. The long awaited park and the beautiful fall tress. We left the mission a bit more learned but not by much and eagerly headed for the "fun" spot.

This was located in the courtyard of the mission and was very interesting to me. I think it is a HUGE fig tree. It is like nothing I have ever seen before. It has fruit all over it but looks totally dead. Being completely surrounded with cactus it seems to be chocking.

When we exited the mission it was raining. It looks like it is pouring but the sun is lighting up the drops. So pretty.

Of course! What child doesn't?

Can it get any better?!

Can you see the rain? It is so neat to me how it is completely sunny but raining at the same time. It was just a huge rain cloud passing by. So totally cool. At one point during our little outing it began to POUR down rain. I was desperately trying to keep the camera dry by hiding it in my jacket. It was great fun. Once we all scurried for cover it stopped just as sudden as it started and the sun perked right back up. It was simply wonderful!

He has a one track mind. From the time we left the house to the time we got to the park all he did was hang on to that football. Never mind all the beautiful sights that can be taken in. All he needed was grass, aka a field,  and it was game on.

Daniel attempting to conquer his fear once again by sliding down that pole. It was a bit wet to hang on to though.
