Daniel's "gift basket"

Daniel had been composing letters and gathering gifts from his toybox over the past month and with increasing excitement awaited the day to give his "gift basket" to Grandpa. Every day for almost the last 4 weeks he would ask how many more days until Grandpa came. At one point we decided to put a calendar on the fridge so he could mark off the days and count down. Once with Grandpa he explained all the pictures in each letter and helped Grandpa assemble his "new" gift since his little fingers were a bit more capable. When it was all said and done he looked at his Grandpa and loving said, "Do you want to keep it?" HA! My dad hesitating, looked at me and whispered. "Should I?" Too sweet.

Grandpa asking.

Daniel telling.

Jesse looking on.

The assembly.

The gratitude. Not remembering the hug , Daniel asked him later that night "Are you grateful?" My dad and I laughed.

The gift! And yes, the $.37 was included.

I LOVE Daniel...he is so sweet and always thinking of others. The pictures are great...I felt like I was there hearing Daniel's precious voice. I could just eat him up!
