A Big Valentine

Tonight Jesse was invited to the jr high group at church. Well all the sixth graders were invited. He had to have a change of clothes since he was leaving strait from football with a friend. I asked him if his clothes were packed,

His reply: "Yeah, I have my pink shirt and my red shorts."

Me: "What?! You can't wear that, you will look like a big valentine!"

He didn't think it was a problem but I still made sure he took different shorts.

A Good Laugh

So I have a broken toe and a pretty good limp. Now this isn't the funny part but it will become important.
While at the hospital during Christopher's surgery Eddie decided it would be a good idea to use a wheelchair for me. Well I got in it fine but when it was time to get out I got stuck. Turned out to be for children. Hmmmm, that would make sense since it was Children's Hospital.

The following day a worker at the Ronald MacDonald house asked me if I would mind if she asked me a personal question. "Sure", I said. She continued, "Are you pregnant?". I laughed and told her, "No, I just wear my shirts snug!" and laughed some more. She was quite embarrassed. I told her she was brave to ask.

I went and sat back down to eat my breakfast and thought, "Maybe my limp looks like a pregnant waddle" and "My toe needs to get better so I can start exercising".

It was a good laugh!

A good laugh

Initially we weren't going to add this picture because I told Jesse he looked like he was dancing. He didn't like that, though he does have perfect form. We got a good laugh when Eddie realized that #9 in the background looks like he got shot in the leg. It is worth posting!

She's young but old to him

Here is what my 19 year old babysitter, Kelly, told me. "Matthew was telling me about an episode of Dexter's Laboratory and I told him I used to watch that show when I was younger and he asked, "Was it in black and white?" He so sweet. I got a big kick out of it."

Strait in

I was just recalling a funny moment that happened sometime last year. Not sure it belongs on here but 'why not'. Jesse, being the responsible boy he is, was running the water in the tub for Daniel and was going to take a seat and watch him for me. Matthew, being the kindly gentleman he is, lifted the toilet seat to keep it clean. Being the boys they are this was all happening simultaneously and being the close family we are the bathroom door was wide open. Of course Jesse was facing the tub to keep an eye on Daniel and just as he was about to take a seat Matthew lifted it and Jesse landed right in the toilet. I was lucky enough to have just reached the end of the hallway to witness it all and had a side stitching laugh the rest of the night.

Armpits!

One night recently I was putting the boys down. I don't remember what compliment I gave Matthew, I think I said he has the best eyes. Anyway, he belted out an addition to my compliment and said, "...and the deepest armpits!" Random!

Buffalogna

When Matthew was 5 Eddie taught his Wednesday night bible class known as the Scooters. He decided to serve bolonga for a snack. Go figure. After they all had their first piece Matthew asked for seconds by saying, "Can I have some more buffalogna?" Hillarious!

Broccoli anyone?

Okay, my husband was being sweet and wanting to help decided to do all the grocery shopping for me. This was about a month ago. I gave a very detailed list down to which items were on sale, i.e. broccoli - 10lbs for $10. Not that you buy 10lbs since it is only $1 per pound but, you know, that is how they advertise it. He took Matthew with him and gave him the task of reading the list to make sure everything made it in the basket. When they arrived home the first thing Eddie said to me was. "Do you know how much 10 pounds of broccoli is?" Stunned, I replied, "Did you buy 10 pounds of brocolli?" Yep! There it was coming into the house in all 4 grocery bags that it shared with nothing else. I was shocked! He and Matthew proceeded to defend their purchase by telling me that is what the list said. I laughed so hard. I laughed even harder after they told me they actually weighed it out to make sure they had ALL 10 pounds!
