Caterpillars!!!!

We went on a hike today at Santa Rosa Plateau and these little caterpillars were EVERYWHERE!! One of the boys we were with collected a whole hat full of them. There are more posted below. It was really hard to choose my pic of the day. It was such a great adventure with so many fun pictures.  I like this one because Critter is holding it. They crawled SO fast and the picture I snapped right after this one shows the caterpillar falling out of his hand. He loved them! He was so gentle and curious and lit up each time he saw one scouting across the hiking path. It was a great time.

He was so stinkin' cute squatting down to watch the little critters run from him....being the big Critter he is! :)

I think this was the beginning of his collection!!

Can you guess?....They are looking at a large funnel web created by a spider. Can you guess what comes next?....They dropped a caterpillar in it. Yep! And I bet you know what comes next.....They are watching and waiting for the spider to come out and spin it up for lunch! 

Thank you April!!! We packed our hiking backpack. I made him walk most of it but she was sweet to him. :) Lucky him. I think he was mad at me though. :)
