Portrait Lens

I have learned a few things about portraiture this past week. One is that my friend's 85mm lens is the best thing ever! The color and creaminess that it produces in pictures is down right fantastic. I was salivating over it the entire time we shot a wedding together. The other thing was that anything 50mm or under can cause a widening affect that isn't the most flattering to the face. I knew that one but had forgotten. SO, instead of using the deposit on my new house to buy the 85mm I pulled out the 100mm that I rarely use. I remember loving the glossiness of a picture I took with it earlier in this project. This is what I got. I didn't touch the color or contrast and I only sharpened slightly. I think this might be my new favorite lens....well except for my friend's 85 but I'd rather have my new house. :)

Funny...my post was originally going to be about his haircut...which I happen to think is SO cute... but I got to thinking about the lens. :)

Get your house and borrow the lens. Problem solved! You defiantly have the gift of photography.
