Charger Game

Jesse is getting older and toys aren't really his thing anymore so we decided to buy him tickets to the Charger game for Christmas. Of course I was going to be his escort since I am the ONLY other football fan in the house. Yea for me!  Guess it was kind of my gift too. When we arrived the parking lot was 99% full and we had to park on the practice field. As we took our mile hike through the parking lot to the stadium I finally understood what a tailgate party was. For crying out loud, there were people there with their 5 foot smokin' BBQ! It smelled glorious with all the BBQs aflame but it was a sight to see. Hilarious.

This is so overrated, but I was glad we got to see it.

Yes we were WAY at the top but it was perfect for us!

I loved the sea of people.

Halftime break!

It was great to be together. It was a nail biter of a game though. The Redskins were ahead for 3/4 of the game but only by either 1 or 4 points. I was dying. Even though it was a "meaningless" game for both teams I did not pay all that money for tickets, $25 for parking (yes that's right), walk all that way to my seats with a broken toe, spend an arm and a leg on refreshments (I am starting to think those tail gate parties are smart) to watch my boy be disappointed that his team lost. Oh no, not on my watch. It was WA- 20 and SD-16. There was 50 seconds left in the game. Chargers had the ball on the 30 yard line and a field goal was not an option. Within 15 seconds they had a touchdown! Yes! The crowd roared,  my boy rejoiced and all was good.

I took a picture of the score right before they kicked for the final point. The 0:35 on the right hand side are the seconds remaining in the game and WA didn't have a chance. Whew that was close.

Jordan still remembers his first NFL game! Those photos brought back so many memories cheering for the Rams and how my car had to be parked by the tailgaters. Did I ever tell you that they moved my car one time? Physically picked it up and moved it...yep! And...you are lucky you got to park that close. I went to a Charger game and had to walk 2 miles downhill cuz we had to park in the surrounding neighborhood. GREAT photos and GREAT memories!!! Thanks for sharing it with all of us!
